I made his debut in the national football team. After all, football and sport generally have always represented an important piece of my life, gifting me rock-hard friendships, and genuine affection, teaching me that it is nice to win but there is no shame in losing. I have had the opportunity to meet people very different from me understanding that I am no better or worse than anyone, just different.
We can learn something from everyone and we can teach everyone something as well. The world is not just divided in black and white, it is grey, the colour of synthesis. Woe to obliges black to become white, or vice versa.
There is a feel rouge between sport and my other big passion, cooking: I started cooking with passion thanks to Sport, compelled by the discipline of my Personal trainer in the gym: I began following a diet that met some strictly defined criteria, nonetheless the idea of condemning myself to a diet based on purely rice, chicken and rice was unacceptable. Thus, I went ahead and studied foods’ nutritional values, how to best blend flavours and calories, making a summary of recipes that these days would wrongly be defined as “fit”
You’d be amazed to know that Red King Prawn from Mazara has no more than 100kcal per every 100 grams, with 13g of protein, 1g of carbohydrates and 1g of fats. On the other hand, 100g of Commercial Breaded Plaice fillets have 250kcal, with 12g of proteins, 28g of carbs and 10g of fats.
Eating well, whichever the goal might be, became my dogma.
Then the pandemic struck, the lockdown, loneliness at home and free time: that’s how fixation morphed into a passion.
Word is, Every obstacle is beneficial.
Today my life has then two big passions: I couldn’t be any happier.
