If cuisine is art, why not make it so that art becomes cuisine?
With this intent, my collaboration with an all-rounded artist “BUG” aka Andrea Buglisi was born.
Starting from my most iconic and successful patisserie work, the Cassata, like a volcano of ideas we exchanged views trying to represent it the best way artistically, contemporary, eye-catching and unconventionally, escaping stereotypes and banality.
We have created a triptych of lamps that would recall the iconic pieces of design, perfectly functioning and captivating, each in their own unique proprieties, but that would however know to abandon their individual dimension to merge, with the other two, in an actual artistic transformation, assembling in a harmony of lights the stylized shapes of a Sicilian Cassata, evoking the vibrancy, freshness and beauty. And the territoriality.
Basically, with Andrea, I have discovered how, not only in the kitchen, perfectly blend ingredients at glance incompatible and turn them into something unique.
Working together was literally…Electrifying!
